After spending some time in Lufthansa’s Senator Lounge, it was back to our ride to take us to JFK. This is flight #2 of a 2-part journey from Singapore to New York the long way. If you want to read about the flight from Singapore to Frankfurt.
For now, back to this flight. After what seemed like a very quick turnaround for an A380, we were ready to board this plane again. IN the boarding line, there was a single line for Business class and Suites, however agents came into the line and checked everyone’s boarding passes and if you were in Suites Class or were a PPS club Solitaire member, the staff took you to the front of the line.

After boarding, I made my way over to seat 11K in the bulkhead row. All of Singapore’s seats on their A380 are equally wide, however the bulkhead row has extra storage space at knee level.

The crew was amazing as always on Singapore airlines and greeted each of us with a smile.
We got a pre-departure beverage choice of orange juice, water, and apple juice and I with apple juice.

The crew did also take our meal orders on the ground but I will feature the menu after our departure.
As you can see, you are seated in your own cocoon, and thankfully, every seat is like this. Overall, it is quite a private seat.

The seat has a center console with decent enough space to keep numerous things in on it though it is quite glossy so things can easily slide around during turbulence.

Right below that were a number of intuitive seat controls which were pretty easy to use. Here, you can control the incline of the seat, the call button, and many other numerous key functions.

There was also the remote control which allows you to control the in flight entertainment and it was pretty responsive.

Behind the center console is the headphone jack and a USB port.

At elbow level on both sides of your seat are elbow rests that can be deployed and give you space.

There was a small storage compartment for tablets, phones, and similar-sized items.

In case you feel like donating money to the airline, there was a credit card reader…Seriously though, I don’t know why this even exists Below that, however, was a power port which is definitely more useful.

There was a larger storage rack that had the menu, headphones, and water bottle that we were provided with. In normal seats, the area around this is a little less spacious than the way it is at this bulkhead seat. There’s a lot more space here.

There was a foot cubby in front of the seat where the bedding could be found. This includes a pillow, a comforter, and a blanket.

Above the center console was a vanity mirror.

It flips open like one of those old phones.

Over your right shoulder is an adjustable reading light

It was a beautiful morning and we were parked right next to an Air Canada 777-300ER.

Here’s a fun one, the finnair aircraft was being sold seats from Lufthansa and operating as Eurowings.

After starting all 4 of our engines, we eventually made our way towards runway 25C which would be our departure runway.

After jetting down the runway, we were off and on our way to New York and it was a beautiful winter morning in Frankfurt.

It’s only during the winter months you get to see views like this and they did not disappoint.

And here’s an in-depth look at the menu. As always, it is very thick and loaded with a wide array of items because Singapore Airlines is just that thorough.

Service started with a round of drinks for which I had Champagne.

Service started with a satay round. The satay was yummy, and the chicken was super moist and fragrant. The peanut sauce had a nice spice kick to it.

Once I was done with that the crew cleared my plate and set up for appetizer.

Apps was a terrine of eel and smoked trout and it was delicious. The smokiness of the meat and the sauce it came in made me want more of it.

The crew brought a bread basket and I picked out the garlic bread from it.

Shortly after it was main course time. I didn’t ask for this dish, but given that the crew were trying ti feed 78 of us, I didn’t really want to tell them to bring the pork dish. I was ok with this. The chicken turned out to be really good. The tamarind sauce was still very nice. Even the 3rd main item down the menu was good.

Dessert was a choice of nut cake, hazelnut ice cream, and a cheese plate. I went for the Nut cake and the cheeses. The cheese plate was nice and enjoyable with a variety of European cheeses and grapes.

The nut cake was out of this world. It was creamy, crunchy, and sweet all in one

The crew also replenished my Alspritzer.

The meal was overall quite good but I was super confused about one thing. This flight departed around 820am, and service was shortly after, which means we were eating a lunch and dinner menu at 9 am. It was a strange feeling for sure as good as the food was.
The rest of the flight was pretty much just views.

Slippers were provided for use during the flight and if you want other amenities like dental kits, or combs, or even shavers, you can find all of those in the lavatory.

About 2 hours before landing into NY, the crew began setting up for the 2nd service.

This time it was a one plate served on a single tray and we had a choice between a quiche and noodles and I went for the latter. We were flying to New York so I could’ve had plenty of the former if I wanted.

The noodles weren’t anything grand but it was simple, tasty, and hit the spot for a pre-arrival meal.

We made our way through Canada enjoying views of the snow below.

I also refilled my Alspritzer. This drink isn’t terribly complicated, but I only have it when flying Singapore Airlines as a reminder of the non-alcoholic version of this drink I had as a kid growing up flying with this awesome airline.

Soon enough, we began our descent into New York JFK.

As we made our way through the clouds we had a pretty decent view of Long Island. It was a cold day but no snow on this particular one.

As we taxiied to the gate we passed by a few interesting widebody aircraft.

Overall, this was yet another great flight on SQ. Every crew member I interacted with was awesome. The food was also overall pretty good across the board. It was a little strange that we were served a lunch menu at breakfast hours, but perhaps they were trying to keep up with Singapore time. In either case, the amenities and bedding are also sufficient enough to keep you comfortable on a daytime flight, so I’d argue this is probably one of the more comfortable ways to take a transatlantic flight to New York.
