Singapore Airlines opened a new Business class lounge in T3 at Changi a few years ago and it is located on the 2nd floor of the T3. Let’s talk about the access rules:

  • Singapore Airlines Business Class Passengers
  • Star Alliance airline business and first-class passengers
  • Singapore KrisFlyer PPS Club/PPS Club Solitaire passengers in any cabin on a Singapore Airlines flight

So, as you can see, this lounge is mainly geared for Business Class passengers, which follows a similar pattern of entry to other lounges like the Polaris Lounges or Air Canada Signature Suites, though those lounges are slightly stricter still.

This is a fun business class review for me because this is the first review I’m writing for a lounge that replaces its older version.

The entrance to the lounge is located on the 3rd floor of Changi Airport’s terminal 3. Plenty of signage throughout the terminal gives you directions to the T3 lounge.

We were there around Christmas time, hence the Christmas tree at the entrance. This entrance is also for the first class side of the lounge which you can see at the end of the below picture, but we will not be going here today.

From the entrance, we went to the business class side of the lounge.

The lounge was quite big, with 2 different sides to it from the entrance, and yet it was still crowded.

The “quieter” side of the lounge is where the bar was, and there were plenty of options. The pictures may be a little off to the side, but there were truly a lot of people, making it hard to take a good picture.

bar

Beyond the bar, there were plenty of seating options, but this still wasn’t the main part of the lounge.

seating

This side of the lounge was quite far from the food but there were still various seating options.

These seats also had universal plugs and USB ports. This is great, but lounges that are build nowadays should really come with USB-C ports as well.

There was definitely a variety of seating depending on if you were trying to work, relax, or something in between.

This side of the lounge also had a fridge with canned drinks.

drinks

This is an area I can only imagine is used for buffet but is currently not being used. Don’t worry. We will check out a full buffet spread on the other side of the lounge shortly.

Coming back to the entrance of the lounge, there were service desks where you could ask the staff about any travel-related inquiries for your flight.

Now we make our way to the other side of the lounge where most of the crowd was, understandably, given the food.

There was similar seating here to the other side of the lounge.

There was also table seating along the side of the wall.

There was a chilled food section in a section before the main hot food items.

food

There were servings of chilled cut fruits, which were refreshing.

Another shelf had some cool looking desserts, and in contract, a salad on the section right below it.

The island also had cereal and a toaster….for anyone that was interested in that at 9pm.

Breakfast items

As you can see, there was a constant flow of people here for food.

Along the wall was where all the hot food was and it was all laid out in a line.

There were a couple made-to-order items like the ones below and then a buffet spread for the rest.

On another counter, they had some soups as well.

Additionally we also had very similar content in the fridges like the other side.

And of course the good food.

There were couch and table-side seats over on one side of the lounge.

There was another separated section that takes you deeper into the lounge.

This section was also quite full.

seating

This side of the lounge was facing into the terminal which is where all the light comes from.

On the bathroom side of things, they were pretty clean and plentiful.

The lounge also had showers, but the wait times were obscenely long. This was peak time for sure, but the wait times were north of 1.5 hours. If I were you, and I wanted to take a shower in the lounge, I would make sure one of the first things you do entering the lounge is to check the wait time for the shower.

showers wait

Overall, the Singapore Airlines Business class lounge has everything you need and want in a lounge. Good drinks, good food variety, large variations of seating and space, clean bathrooms, and showers. This was the busiest time in the lounge, so the resources were put to the test, and the experience was still pretty pleasant. I just wish this lounge had better control of its shower situation. I’m not even sure how few showers there were, but having a wait of more than 1.5 hours should not be happening.
