All premium passengers and most elite status flyers are given access to the international GVK Lounge upon departure.

lounge invitation

Like the lounge, the entrance itself to the lounge was pretty stunning.

entrance

After having your boarding pass checked, you actually take the elevators down a floor to where the lounge is. From that point, here is what you’ll walk into. There is a section with a lot of seats.

seats

There were some sofas and individual seats but no matter where you were, there was ease of access to a power port. Now whether the power worked was a whole different issue as that didn’t work for me at most of the couches.

seats

As I was showing at the start, there are some duo seating options along the wall near where the entrance is.

seats

These seats, as you can see, don’t have power ports.

Then there was a section with relatively private season as it was separated by a divider from the other parts of the lounge.

separate area

But shame on the seats because I tried about 5-6 different power ports here and none of them worked.

Seats

Now back in the open section, there were plenty of seats along the window which I quite like and especially if you’re an AvGeek like me!

Going into the next room there were high top seats with chargers.

This room to the far right end of the lounge is where all the dining tables were and the food. Let’s check that out.

Dining area

Here is what the Buffet area looked like and there was a bar next to it as well. Let’s see what food there is:

There was a good variety of cold options.

And then some bread and papad.

And some Arabic/Mediterranean options.

With that out of the way, here are the desserts they had:

And some other things.

The food selection was quite impressive and there was a wide variety. All the food that I had, for the most part, was good.

Next to all the food was also a fridge with a decent variety of chilled drinks.

And above water is also there. But if you want room temperature water, there was also a set up of water opposite the fridge.

There was also a coffee and tea machine with all sorts of drinks you could want.

Throughout the lounge, there were wide open views of the tarmac, including this Jet Airways A330 heading to Jeddah.

Ok so now from the lounge entry area, going to the left instead of the right is a completely different area and much quieter too.

Firstly, there was a separate bar area which was practically empty because no one was on that side of the lounge.

bar

And as you can see by the seats on this end of the lounge, it was quite empty.

more seats

There was another private seating area on this end of the lounge from the other side.

This pretty much is the last room of the lounge to the far left where there were only maybe 3-4 people.

lounge seats

There were also macs to get work done which were essential for me and my photos given that my laptop got fried while I was in India.

There was also some work seats with space and power outlets and these ones actually worked!

Lastly, there was a massage room and spa room.

And a room with massage chairs

Lounge entrance

Overall, I’m sure why you can see this is my favorite contract lounge in the world. When you think fo contract lounges such as Plaza Premium Lounges or other separate systems, this simply does not compare and is way above and beyond. From the frequent service to the large a variety of food, seats, and drinks. All of what you found here is something you’d find in a flagship business class lounge of an airline, but not a contract lounge. Next time, I shall try and review an airline that allows me to review the GVK premium lounge for you guys as that’s slightly better, but otherwise a great lounge to have time to spend in. Well done, GVK. Well done!
