Video Walkthrough:
United has 4 different club lounges at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Two of them are in concourse B, one in Concourse C, where a lot of their widebody planes depart from, and another in Concourse F, which is where United’s regional aircraft depart from. This one is the one in Concourse F where all of United’s regional aircraft depart from.
As a refresher, here are the access rules to United Clubs
- Star Alliance international Premium Cabin passengers
- Star Alliance Gold Status flying internationally on Star Alliance in economy
- Non-United MileagePlus Star Alliance Gold status members flying domestically on United
- United Club Members and those with one-time pass traveling
- Those traveling on Business Class on United’s transcontinental routes: LAX to/from EWR, SFO to/from EWR, SFO to/from BOS
Now once you enter the lounge and get checked in at the desk directly in front, you make a right U-turn and head up a set of escalators which brings you up here, where there’s a set of service desks and where the rest of the lounge is.
To the right of the desks were 4 business stations which were all occupied. I really like the style of the newly redone lounge and I think it has a very modern feel.
Now lets start at the end of the lounge closer to the entrance, because this lounge is quite expansive. This section had some people and was much quieter than the main part of the lounge. If there was one major plus, there were great tarmac views.
There were also some booth seats on the side facing the wall.
Here is a look at the area where I was seated.
Each seat had 2 USB ports and a power port for usage, which I think is great to have that many per person.
There were also some seats around a table for perhaps people traveling with others.
Like I was saying, there were great tarmac views too and on a day with thunderstorms in the area, no question I was enjoying myself some nice views.
That was the quiet part of the club lounge. Now below we have the larger part of the lounge.
As soon as you enter the second room, all the food is available on the right.
There was the usual spread here. Cut veggies, the cheese cubes of sadness, brownies, and more.
There was also some coffee here.
Then there was a nice wall with an old United Stratocruiser which was the bathroom. I didn’t even realize this until I had to use the restroom and went on a hunt for the restrooms.
Here is the main part of the lounge which had lots of seats and a bar which was staffed as well.
On the right side along the wall, there was a giant board and as you can see, on this day there were lots of delays and cancellations due to a giant winter storm circling many states. My original flight to Milwaukee was canceled but luckily UA had held the last seat on a later flight which allowed me about 6 hours across the club lounges.
Beyond the bar, there was another section and this one also had lots of seating.
There was one last seating area in this section with some more seats.
There was another food section on this end of the lounge, and I’d argue that this section of the lounge had better food than the previous section.
This cheese pasta was really tasty and I helped myself to multiple servings.
Overall, I was actually quite happy with this club lounge. The hot food was good, the lounge was modernized and clean, staff was efficient with cleaning up plates and cups, views were great, and the lounge had good wifi. Is it on the same level as international lounges? Probably not. But it’s certainly a vast improvement over what they used to be. This lounge was still a bit crowded but definitely not a bad place to burn a few hours.
